Melbourne Creative Artists' Passion Dilemma
My
psychic reading editorial this week is dedicated to the Creatives and artists of Australia, Melbourne and the world.
There are many joys I have as a spiritual Empath, but when I use the art of clairsentience to tune into creatives, I feel bliss.
Melbourne City Council's Hypnotist Commercial
Creatives, be that an artist, an actor, a dancer, a singer, a chef, are passionate about their craft.
It's easy to see that passion reflected in their art, especially the street art of
Melbourne's unique laneways.
Melbourne Laneways Art - Sniders Lane.
You don't need to be hynotised to see it.
Nobody needs to be hypnotised to visit and appreciate the local art in the Melbourne CBD.
So why did the Melbourne City Council recently spend $1.5 million to make a
commercial suggesting people need to be hypnotised to see what is right in front of them in Melbourne?
They flew in an overseas hypnotist and got young Melburnian women and men to agree to be hypnotised to supposedly see their city with a new set of eyes.
All I can say is, the Melbourne City Council can't have much confidence in what our city has to offer, if they think everyone has to be hypnotised into seeing it.

What's Behind all this Hypnotism?
Why does the Melbourne City Council believe that their "hipster" demographic needs some type of hypnotising mind manipulation to appreciate the amazing attractions of the
City of Melbourne? - (

Russell Place - Melbourne Laneways
The money they spent on the online campaign would have been better spent getting a group of young people to walk through our cherished laneways, taking photos of street art to share online and spread the word.
What a mixed message it sends out to the creatives, that marketing companies believe the only way locals can appreciate their art is to be hypnotised.
But that's not the only surprising thing happening in Australia to do with the art community.
In the recent 2015 federal budget, the Government has decided to cut $105 million from the
Australia Council for the Arts. Instead, this money is being transferred to the Federal Arts Minister. This would mean that politicians would decide which art should be funded by that money, instead of an independent body, solidly rooted in the Australian community.
Another problem with this sort of compartmentalisation of art directly into a Government department, is that art could become part of an economic model. A politician could decide that only art that makes money would be financed.
The
Banksy's of Australia who leave thought provoking art messages throughout the world to shake us up, or get us to see the bigger picture, could be lost to economic rationalism and political point scoring.
Spiritual Reasons Why Creatives Need to Create
When I tune into creative's auras they carry so much passion about the love of expression.
The
root chakra, the red lotus flower, is open wide, passionate and pulsating with creativity. When this chakra is not wide open and creatives aren't producing their art, they can have withdrawal symptoms. Sometimes this can lead to depression.
The expression of temperament and the unconventional energy that allows an artist to be in touch with the creative essence of their craft, is incongruent with economic models.
So many artists have so much to give, but are forced into sterile conservative environments that can harden their souls. They need to be understood in their own way. Most creatives who work in non-creative job positions to pay the bills, can only fantasise about what it would be like to leave their day job and follow their creative passions.
You see their stories on the TV when they enter the Voice or singing and dancing competitions. Every artist deserves that moment in the spotlight, but sadly many creatives will bend to the will of society, family pressures etc. and ignore the voice that calls out to them to be authentic self.
Not Following their Passion Creates Conflict in Creatives
I often do readings for creatives who are in conflict with either earning good money in a soulless job, or following their creative passion.
It's not easy having to weigh up your options about being a fashion designer or a lawyer. One job position can appear more secure than the other. When creatives do force themselves to work in sterile work environments that they can't relate to, they can become depressed and withdraw into themselves.
Creatives also can struggle to earn a living following their passion. There are some artists who dedicate their life writing novels or music, to find when it comes to retirement they don't have enough money to support themselves.
Creatives Need to Create
Adobe, a creative computer software company situated in California, recently had a conference in Australia to help graphic artists and creatives find an outlet for their passion.
They were encouraging artists to come together to volunteer to a cause and use their art for the greater good to do something with their lives that could make a difference.
The Graphic artist in Australia can find the going tough when it comes to bartering for work from small business owners. They are often losing their jobs to overseas workers who bring their prices down to win the customer over.
Globalisation has many benefits for the creatives in promoting their arts and skills to an international audience, but it can also have the opposite effect of creatives having to cope with wheelers and dealers who try to undercut the artists works for the cheapest price.
Artists have to deal with a wide range of issues about protecting their copyright, etc. They have to stand up to people and businesses who internationally distribute their songs without permission etc. The list is endless.
Tuning into Creative's Auras
I know the stories of the creatives and artists of Australia because when I connect with your ethereal field I am given impressions of your talents and some of the obstacles you are contending with. Sometimes when I go into the stillness I enter the artist world and enter a light trance I am shown visions of your singing, your dancing, your artwork and know how much this means to you.
Why Creatives and Artists Need to Stand Up for the Arts
Your creative gift needs to be cherished and if you have to use your voice to stand up to politicians who don't understand what makes you tick, then that's what is necessary.
If you are feeling the creative life isn't worth embracing because it is too hard, I encourage you to remember why you incarnated in the first place and why your love of expression makes you feel alive. Don't let the ignorance of a few, stop you from being your true self.
As an artist, you can come up with ways of working around the economic structures and still be true to yourself. You need to share your passion with the world just as much as the world needs you.
Show why you love being a creative.
